Ceres Seeds

Ceres Seeds is a 100% homegrown Dutch cannabis seed company. The owners started with their very first cannabis seeds and cuttings back in 1988, though the Ceres marijuana seedsproducing team were still learning the ropes back then. By the 1990s, they worked for the old and infamous Dreadlock Coffeeshop, as well as at reputable cannabis seed companies such as the Sensi Seeds Seed Bank, where they learned how to produce and cross strong and healthy plants.

By the late 1990s, cannabis seed companies were popping up everywhere. The Ceres Cannabis Seedsteam were surprised that many were making F2 varieties, which are hybrids crossed with hybrids. Ceres Seeds decided to get serious with their very own F1 varieties.

Approaching breeding with the simple philosophy of easy, reliable and 100% stable strains, Ceres Cannabis Seeds started with landrace genetics that were available from Sensi Seeds plus strong indica seeds they had collected over time in Holland.

Then, say Ceres Seeds, we remembered the old sativa seeds from all those baggies of weed we had smoked ten or fifteen years earlier. We started testing, growing, experimenting, selecting and reproducing using the best seeds from all our collections. In 1999 they made the big step and started Ceres Seeds. They took the name from Ceres, the Roman goddess of agriculture and motherly love, whose name is derived from the roots of to grow and create.
